Biography

MTS Consulting was set up by Jim Flynn in 2002. Jim has over 20 years experience working in multinational and SME companies, and has a real passion for assisting people to perform better and achieve more. Having originally graduated in the field of science, Jim progressed through many job roles, including Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Shift Manager, Production Manager and Operations Manager.

He played a significant part in the rejuvenation of Murphy’s Brewery in Cork in the years after the Heineken takeover in 1983. This was a period of major ongoing change in the organisation, resulting in it’s metamorphosis from financial receivership into a world-class company.
He has considerable experience in the area of Organisational Development, including Managing Change, Individual and Team Development, Performance Improvement, Internal Communications and Project Leadership. Over the years Jim has availed of considerable training and development internationally.
Jim has also worked for SMEs since leaving Heineken.

MTS Consulting provides Health & Safety Training and Consultancy. Jim is a qualified Manual Handling instructor, and is a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health. Jim Flynn is a qualified and experienced Life & Business Coach and NLP Practitioner. He also works as Life Coach for the 'Create a Second Income' programme run by West Cork Development Partnership. He works as a Business Mentor through Enterprise Ireland, covering Organisational Development and Enterprise Startup.

Jim holds the IITD Certificate in Training & Development and the Foundation Diploma in Training & Education. He provides FETAC-certified staff and management training, in areas such as management skills, train the trainer, and mentoring. Courses are run both publicly and in-company. Jim believes that employment today can, and should, be a win-win relationship for employee and employer. He sees work as a channel for personal development, and as such it should be challenging and rewarding. He assists organisations to remain profitable during the recession by optimising workforce performance. Jim is passionate about working with individuals and organisations to help them tap into their true potential.
